The first two songs listed this week are ones that really speak to me. "God Of This City" reminds me of the fact that God reigns over everything...and sometimes I don't think about that in terms of Champaign/Urbana. Pray the 2nd stanza over and over again. Let it sink in
And One Pure and Holy Passion seems like one of those prayers I just can't ever pray enough...
God Of This City
You’re the God of this city
You’re the King of these people
You’re the Lord of this nation
You are
You’re the light in this darkness
You’re the hope to the hopeless
You’re the peace to the restless
You areGreater things have yet to come
Greater things are still to be done
In this city
One Pure And Holy Passion
Give me one pure and holy passion
Give me one magnificent obsession
Give me one glorious ambition for my life
To know and follow hard after YouTo know and follow hard after You
To grow as Your disciple in the truth
This world is empty, pale and poor
Compared to knowing You, my Lord
Lead me on and I will run after You
Lead me on and I will run after You
All Who Are Thirsty
[Psalm 42, John 7:37-38]
All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life
Let the pain and the sorrow
Be washed away
In the waves of his mercy
As deep cries out to deep-
Come Lord Jesus come
